Previously in Greenwich Village, she is now in the ground floor of an East Village brownstone (with a garden in the back, open to her customers on weekdays!), which she has transformed into an Ali Baba cave of precious food-related items: from vintage cooking utensils to out-of-print cookbooks, everything is displayed on cute and colorful old-school dining tables and homey shelves she brought along with her.
\n
Mostly made up of rare, secondhand, antique, very cool and out-of-print editions, her large collection of beautiful books focuses on food, drinks and cooking. In a world where all we do is cook and eat, not only will these books come in practical, but catching a glimpse of Bonnie's world is also a delight. This shop is definitely among the places I miss the most at the moment in New York.
\n
This is one of the book selections Bonnie sent me from her magical hideout:
\n
Tina Lee, Manners to Grow on
\n
Niccolo de Quattrociocchi, Love and Dishes
\n
Ninth Avenue Festival Cookbook
\n
Complete Etiquette for Everybody - Things that are not done
\n
Rian James, Dining in New York
\n
Milton Glaser and Jerome Snyder, The Underground Gourmet
\n
New York Hackmen's & Chauffeurs' Guide
\n
Kate Simon, New York Places & Pleasures
\n
Bonnie Slotnick Cookbooks, 28 East Second Street, NY NY 10003
\n
http://bonnieslotnickcookbooks.com/
\n
Phone # 212-989-8962 or email bonnieslotnickbooks@earthlink.net
","frontmatter":{"title":"Bonnie Slotnick's Cookbooks","color":"beige","description":"If you are thinking of cooking something delicious, having fun while doing it AND want to get your recipe from an aesthetically pleasing source, look no further.","featuredimage":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/jpeg;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.1478260869565218,"src":"/static/dbece4d2c4392b0d79e81d0d0724617a/28339/img_2264-2.jpg","srcSet":"/static/dbece4d2c4392b0d79e81d0d0724617a/a81f5/img_2264-2.jpg 132w,\n/static/dbece4d2c4392b0d79e81d0d0724617a/78163/img_2264-2.jpg 263w,\n/static/dbece4d2c4392b0d79e81d0d0724617a/28339/img_2264-2.jpg 526w,\n/static/dbece4d2c4392b0d79e81d0d0724617a/0c9a7/img_2264-2.jpg 789w,\n/static/dbece4d2c4392b0d79e81d0d0724617a/76dce/img_2264-2.jpg 1052w,\n/static/dbece4d2c4392b0d79e81d0d0724617a/5a799/img_2264-2.jpg 1103w","sizes":"(max-width: 526px) 100vw, 526px"}}},"overlay":"none"}}},"pageContext":{"id":"e5574e20-3bb4-5e3e-8988-938424d3d5fe"}}}
